CALLING ALL Drum and Babes 💗:

This workshop only comes around every couple of months, so don't miss your opportunity to throw some finger guns up and pop off with some new footwork!

This is a beginner friendly, combo-based workshop with an emphasis on expanding your vocabulary so you're not stuck always doing the same moves all the time. DnB Step has a lot of great moves that you can apply to your Cutting Shapes flow, but this style truly flourishes when done along with the musicality structure of Drum and Bass music 🥁 Come and learn:

-The history and culture of DnB Step

-The basic moves + traditional X-Out style

-How to transition, put moves together, and build a freestyle flow

-Several short combos you can use in your own flow!

So what is DnB Step?

STEPPING IS NOT THE SAME AS SHUFFLING but is considered to be “shuffle-adjacent.” Many people say that since “shuffling” has become an umbrella term that encompasses many styles of footwork/rave dances, that DnB Step can be categorized now as a type of shuffling (although it is very different from the original Melbourne Shuffle).

What sets DnB Step apart is the advanced footwork tricks, jumping, unwavering rhythm and timing, and of course the music! Drum and Bass is typically between 160-180 BPMs which is MUCH faster than house music. When dancing to it, the steps are designed to only hit full beats as opposed to the “and” (the half beat) that we hit when shuffling/cutting shapes, making it possible to create a super clean footwork aesthetic and do more complex maneuvers.

DnB Step is super fun and a great way to improve and expand your footwork vocabulary with moves and concepts that you can use to level up your shuffling and dancing overall.
