Enjoy a brief intermission, win some prizes from our raffle lottery, and dig into the culture of this underground style as you learn about where it came from, how it evolved over time, and what is going on in the culture today.

8pm

Time to get the party started (and maybe try out some of the moves you’ve been watching all night, if you’re feeling inspired)!

Our DJ’s will serenade you with beats so good, you can’t help but move and groove as you mingle and connect with our shuffle fam.

10pm - Head home feeling inspired, excited, and high on life. We can’t wait to see you again soon at a class or meetup <3

We have chosen to make this performance & training opportunity financially accessible to as many shufflers as possible, by offering LOTS of scholarships and operating this event as not-for-profit.

The school takes on a significant financial responsibility by doing this, but we feel this is extremely important and beneficial to the community we serve<3

Admission tickets to our event are based on a pay-what-you-can system, with $10 being the lowest amount. Any amount that you choose to give above that will enable us to keep this program going, offer more scholarships to more people who NEED dance as a way to heal and connect with community, and it will also mean…

Parking can be expensive in garages, and hard to find on the street, so we recommend one of these 2 options for parking:

  1. Take the monorail to Seattle Center and avoid parking altogether

  2. Park at Amazon’s Day 1 parking garage (it’s free on weekends) and walk 15 minutes to Seattle Center

MEET THE DANCERS!

  • Cisco is the founder of You Can Shuffle With Us, which is more than just a dance school - it's a tight-knit community of hundreds of EDM lovers in Seattle.

    Cisco is a self-taught dancer, and has made her way from rewinding YouTube videos over and over while learning in her bedroom, to performing shuffling on stages all over the US at clubs and festivals like Beyond Wonderland and Texas Eclipse Festival.

    Her emphasis in teaching is to create a fun & welcoming environment that feels like home and makes dance accessible to ALL people - especially adults with no prior dance experience - because everyone deserves to have fun & enjoy moving their bodies, regardless of whether they've had formal training or not <3

  • My name is Jasper & my biggest passion in life is dance & sharing the dance knowledge & passion I have with as many people as I can. I started dancing in 2009 with Breakdancing, which still holds my heart today, but found Shuffling & developed a huge passion for it as well. It has been a dream come true & a blessing getting to make a successful career out of dance since 2021. Now I have the prestigious honor of both choreographing & performing for this showcase & am excited to show how mixing styles can really enhance a dance performance.

  • Marina (aka Cheebs)’s dance journey began when she was in kindergarten, but she discovered her first true love with dance when she started shuffling 5 years ago. Marina describes herself as a hybrid shuffler, mixing together elements of different styles such as Melbourne and cutting shapes. Since starting her shuffle journey, she has been incredibly grateful for all of the opportunities that have changed her life - from getting to learn from her shuffle inspirations around the world, teaching her own classes with YCSWU, to performing on various club/festival stages with Main Stage Shufflers, and forming lifelong connections with the Seattle shuffle community. Marina’s favorite thing about dance is the way it allows her to connect with the music and with others through authentic self-expression. Her showcase piece is dedicated to the community and the love and gratitude she holds for each person she has crossed paths with in her shuffle journey.

  • Leanne Buentipo has been developing her skills in shuffling for the past 6 years. She has grown to love the MAS style and has also expanded her dance repertoire with Gogo, Dnb Step, Muzzing and Hooping, but shuffling has always been her #1 love 😇

  • Hi there! I’m Marlisa (MAR-LEE-SAH). I’ve always loved swaying to the music, but have minimal formal dance training. I got into shuffling a couple years ago when I first came upon Cisco’s beginner class series. It’s been so fun learning this new style of dance and meeting great people in the community!

  • Hi I’m Paige (@shuffle.shenanigans)! I started shuffling in September 2022 and have been obsessed ever since. Besides shuffling, I love exploring the outdoors, dinosaurs, and being creative.

    I recently joined the MainStage Shufflers and am so excited to continue challenging myself as a shuffler.

  • I’ve been shuffling for about 3 years, purely for the joy it brings.

    Dancing to EDM and DnB music lets me express the energy and passion I

    feel when listening to my favorite tracks. Shuffling is my way of

    connecting with the music I love and sharing that vibe with others.

  • Hello hello my name is Leanne Manlosa, a 24 year old content creator from Seattle, Washington who was born with two left feet until I took my first beginner's series with Cisco in April of 2023. Dancing has made me fall in love with my body & fostered a deeper connection with the way I move to music. I love meeting people through the shuffle community, cool pants, & DnB!

  • My name is Rifqi, but you can call me Rif :) My passion for dancing started when I took my first shuffle class with Cisco back in August 2023. I immediately fell in love, not just with shuffling, but with dancing in general. Ever since then, I’ve been learning other dance styles such as hip-hop, breaking, house, and many more! I’ve always been incorporating new and different moves to my shuffle flow to create a style that is uniquely mine.

  • Serenas passion for shuffling ignited after a Van Seco class before EDC 2019, perfect timing to have a 2020 lockdown obsession. 

    Since then she's been enthralled by shuffling, the music, and the community. Serena is a kinesiology student and works in functional health by day & Driven by a passion for shuffling at night. She hopes to bring enthusiasm and commitment to growth to the team.

    "Joining this talented group has inspired me to push my limits and refine my skills. I'm excited to contribute to our collective energy and creativity on stage... and off the stage!" 

  • I began shuffling around 10 months ago because I saw a few videos and thought it looked cool and quickly got addicted because it’s fun! Started by learning the basics off of YouTube and just freestyling a lot. Found this shuffle community around 5 months ago through a meetup and have met a lot of wonderful shufflers since then!

  • I'm a passionate beginner lever shuffler. Dance has always been my therapy. The vibrant energy and infectious vibe at music festivals sparked my desire to move, inspiring me to learn how to shuffle. I'm eagerly embracing the learning process, dedicating myself to every step, and finding joy in the art of dance.

  • I started shuffling 7 years ago, learning from online tutorials and practicing alone in my room. My passion grew when I discovered real-life classes and community in You Can Shuffle With Us. I'm happy to now be involved in growing the Seattle shuffle community through participating in the YCSWU showcase and helping organize community events with my crew, Flow State Shufflers. My own shuffle style continues to evolve as I draw inspiration from other performing artists and different disciplines such as salsa, tai chi, and kickboxing.

LUCKY LIGHT

Lucky has been igniting dance floors since 2022 as a dynamic DJ, bringing her passion for house music to every event. With 6 years of experience as a shuffler, she expertly combines her dance skills with her DJ sets to create unforgettable experiences. Her enthusiasm for making people move and groove is at the heart of her performances.

A longtime raver and house music devotee, Mai Tai took her passion to the decks in 2023! Her sets blend the raw energy of a dance floor veteran with the excitement of a new DJ, making every set a high-energy journey. Driven by a deep love for the music and the culture, she aims to craft unforgettable experiences that keep shufflers moving from start to finish.

After years of teaching classes as this community grows and grows,
Seeing their passion become undeniable,
And watching their skills improve to levels that have me screaming hype during their freestyles….

I knew I wanted to create an opportunity for these amazing humans to show off everything they’ve been working so hard on.

Even though most are not in this to become professional dancers, the process of training for a performance provides important benefits to those participating:

  • Motivation to focus, be disciplined, and GROW

  • Bonding time with teammates that creates a deeper sense of community

  • A challenge to step outside of comfort zones and have confidence in their abilities

We’ve had such an unforgettable time preparing for this event. It’s been exciting, heartwarming, humbling at times, and always pushing us to expand.

I’m unbelievably proud of everyone who stepped up to participate, and genuinely committed themselves to the process. The work ethic and excitement they bring only fuels me to do better and create bigger opportunities for them in return.
